CNC WORLDWIDE, INC
CNC WORLDWIDE, INC. (CNC) is an international freight forwarding company specializing in project cargo and breakbulk movements in the Central and South Americas. Everything from packing to shipping and from customs to delivery, we take pride in providing comprehensive insight and an open line of communication with customers throughout every step of the journey.
CNC originally started as a Container Freight Station in 1991 serving the LAX area under the name COSMO EXPRESS INT’L CORP. The CFS operation is still serving customers today not only in the Southern California area, but international customers who use the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach as a transfer point between the Americas and Asia.
In 2003, CNC opened its first branch office in Miami, Florida, also known as the gateway to Central and South Americas. Partnering with our office in Los Angeles, we were able to provide a fast and cost-effective freight reforwarding solution to and from Central and South Americas. The Miami office, together with our Los Angeles office, still continues to serve as one of the major transfer cities for a lot of our customers that are sending cargo through air-to-air re-forwarding or a more cost-effective sea-to-air re-forwarding.
In 2006, we began our international expansion by opening our first non-U.S. branch office in Mexico City, Mexico. This paved the way for CNC to provide an even more comprehensive and efficient service to agents, shippers, and consignees beyond the borders of the United States. Today, our Mexico City office, located in the very heart of the city, serves as the regional headquarters for our Central and South American operations.
Air Freight Forwarding
Air Freight Forwarding is the process of planning and arranging the movement of cargo using airplane(s) as the main mode of transportation. This is often in contrast to Ocean Freight Forwarding, which achieves the same result while using ship(s) as the main mode of transportation.
The term “shipping” can be misleading as people often imagine ships carrying large metal containers. However, “shipping” by airplanes is an extremely popular method of cargo transportation due to its speed and reliability. Air cargo often travels on commercial passenger airplanes, but there are also freighters specifically designed to only carry cargo and no passengers. This flexibility allows most air cargo to be transported from the origin to virtually any place in the world within about 24 hours.
However, organizing this transportation is not as simple as buying a ticket and placing the cargo on an airplane as a person would normally do. Due to widely varying export and import laws, required documentation, customs declarations, or other country or region-specific rules and regulations, the logistics process requires profound knowledge to get it done in a timely and cost-effective manner. CNC is an experienced freight forwarder that can arrange your Air Freight Forwarding needs.
Ocean Freight Forwarding
Ocean Freight Forwarding is the process of planning and arranging the movement of cargo using ship(s) as the main mode of transportation. This is often in contrast to Air Freight Forwarding, which achieves the same result while using airplane(s) as the main mode of transportation.
Ocean Freight Forwarding provides huge capacity and cost efficiency while sacrificing speed. While there are container ships designed to carry the large metal containers that most people imagine, there are ships designed to carry just about every type of cargo, from tiny pebbles to entire cars and from gases to liquids. Ships are relatively slow-moving when compared to airplanes, but given that the ship has very little to no weight restriction, just about anything that can be imagined can be shipped by the right freight forwarder.
However, organizing this transportation is not as simple as buying a ticket and placing the cargo on a ship as a person would do for a cruise. Due to widely varying export and import laws, required documentation, customs declarations, or other country or region-specific rules and regulations, the logistics process requires profound knowledge to get it done in a timely and cost-effective manner. CNC is an experienced freight forwarder that can arrange your Ocean Freight Forwarding needs.
Project Cargo Logistics
Project Cargo Logistics (also known as project forwarding) refers to a special type of cargo transportation service that usually involves high-value or high-volume or weight cargo that may require complex and more specialized arrangements to properly execute.
In Project Cargo Logistics, the cargo is moved by air, ocean, and land like regular forwarding shipments; but due to its special nature, it often requires a large amount of pre-planning to safely transport the cargo. Some of the steps include securing specialized aircraft, vessels, or maneuvering equipment, performing route surveys, securing special permits required for oversize and supersized loads, deploying pilot cars or armed escorts for extra security, and more.
